XSLT Stylesheets for Math

I use my own XSLT stylesheets for writing math texts with equations.

These transform an XHTML based file format (with my XHTML extensions) with embedded MathML into the standard XHTML with MathML. (For an example of the output of these stylesheets, see algebraic theory of formulas.)

It is a new system which eventually should replace TeX and LaTeX.

These stylesheets are yet in a very beginning early of development, but indeed you may try to use these for writing your math texts. (However no documentation yet.) Please take part in the development and send me patches.

Features:

XHTML based file format;
convenient support for embedded MathML;
(not yet) separating MathML into separate files, replacing MathML with image references (when it will be done we will be able to use html2ps program to transform XHTML with CSS into quality PostScript and then PDF files with math formulas);
transforming content MathML to presentational MathML (for browsers not supporting presentational MathML);
support for numbered theorems, definitions, lemmas etc. (not yet complete);
section-based document structure (using my additional XHTML tags);

To use it you need:

Knowledge of XML;
MathML supporting Web browser or XML browser (I use Mozilla and Amaya);
An XSLT ≥1.0 (I suggest XSLTproc).

It should be also developed XSLT-based transformer from this XML format to LaTeX.
